In Shadow of the Ninja – Reborn, players take on the role of either the lethal shinobi Hayate or the fierce kunoichi Kaede, battling to overthrow an oppressive dictatorship. Both characters perform identically, so your choice doesn't impact gameplay. Whether playing solo or in co-op, you’ll need to navigate six stages filled with enemies, collecting experience and items, and squaring off against towering bosses. 

Throughout the game, you’ll jump between platforms, dodge enemy attacks, and find new ninja-themed items to assist in your quest. Your starting weapons are the close-range katana and the long-range kusarigama, though you’ll unlock additional gear as you progress. Mastery of enemy attack patterns, level layouts, and inventory management is essential to your survival and progress in this ninja game. 

As you explore, you’ll gather a variety of weapons to expand your arsenal. Each weapon offers a unique advantage, with larger ones dealing more damage and certain ranged options automatically targeting enemies. You’ll also find food and drink items that can restore your health once it’s in the red level. However, while the game emphasizes combat and the fight against a dictatorship, it lacks a character development system.
